Ford Club of the Philippines (FCP) has pulled off yet another great event for their members and supporters. Dubbed as Stoplight TV’s "Motor Weekend featuring The Ford Club of the Philippines", the event was held last Sunday 6th of July 2008 at the Eastwood Central Plaza in Eastwood Libis, Quezon City. A number of FCP members showcased their prized possessions. Be it daily driven or show worthy Ford vehicles, the objective is to show the general public a better life after getting your Ford vehicle. Yes! There is more to life after owning a Ford Vehicle and this organization is testament to that. Ford Club of the Philippines is the only premiere car club recognized by the Ford Group Philippines in the country.
It all started last year when Ford club of the Philippines was invited by Stoplight TV to be their featured car club for the month for September 2007. FCP's officers were a bit skeptical about pushing thru with Stoplight’s invite since most of the members' rides were daily driven. Additionally, we all know that car shows require tremendous preparation to have a great looking car. The general public would normally scrutinize why a particular car is worthy to be displayed and what is special about it. Realizing that the main objective of FCP for the event is to show the public that there is a ford-owners community devoted to helping its members' with respect to owning a ford vehicle, the officers have decided to push through with the event.
The event showcased the FCP organization and the people behind it. FCP is not just about cars, it’s about the people who own the cars. This is FCP's distinguishing factor compared to the other car clubs out there. This organization provides a good example of what an organization should be. FCP espouses an egalitarian way of caring for its members, regardless of profession, race, religion or gender.
Building on the success of the first Stoplight TV and FCP partnership last September 2007, Stoplight TV has once again invited FCP for another car display event to be featured in their segment “StoplightTV’s Motor weekend”. This time around, FCP without hesitation agreed to do it again for the same purpose of showing the people the better side life after getting a Ford.
Once again the event was a great success. Eastwood City guests were treated with a variety of Ford vehicles. The automobiles showcased ranged from vintage ford cars, to classic mustangs and escorts, to the built-tough trucks and SUVs, to race cars, up to the stylish hatches and sedans. For FCP members it was another opportunity to get together, bond, have fun and show the public its brand of camaraderie.
Sharing the success of the event are FCP's partners and sponsors, namely: Chinatrust Bank, Bardahl Oils, Philippine Auto club, SMT Competition headers and exhaust, Buddy Club with FCP media partners Tuason Racing School (TRS) and Ford Group Philippines.
